The Naughty Elephant (A fable by Lexuan) 3K

One fine morning, Bird was chirping happily when the bully, Elephant appeared. He wondered who was chirping. As Elephant turned his head around, he saw Bird chirping. ‘I want to challenge Bird to a fight.’ Elephant muttered to himself. Bird heard him muttering and thought that he wanted to fight with her.

Suddenly, Elephant shouted at Bird, ‘I want to challenge you to a fight!’ Then he stood up and walked away. Bird was afraid, so she called her friends: Rabbit, Cat and Mouse. They discussed about a plan to defeat Elephant.

The next day, Rabbit, Bird, Mouse and Cat met Elephant in the park. Then, Bird ordered Mouse to fight with Elephant. When he saw Mouse, he laughed until Mouse climbed onto him. Before anyone knew what was going to happen next, Mouse had already climbed up to Elephant’s trunk. He pulled some hair out off Elephant’s trunk. Elephant jumped up and yelled. He wanted to get rid of Mouse but in vain. The next thing he knew, Mouse climbed straight up his head! Mouse was kicking and punching Elephant while Bird was pecking him.

Elephant apologized to Bird and her friends and he promised them not to be a bully again.

Any ideas what the moral of the story is? Leave your answers in the comments.

Reminder on the use of SRI booklist

Just a gentle reminder to make the best use of your SRI booklist which was given out last term.
This is what you have to do:
- Attach the report to 3A TEXTBOOK.
- Look for the books listed and read as many of them as possible. They are to put a tick next to the title once they have read it.
- Ask your parents to sign on the report & to get them to help in looking for the books listed.
- I will be checking your lists periodically.
- Bring the list with you whenever we visit the MRL so that you can borrow those books on the list.
- Transfer the list when using Textbook 3B.

Hello everyone....

Dear beloved students,

Once again, thank you so much for all your Get-Well-Soon messages. My eyes are getting better although it is still quite difficult to work on the computer for now. I'm doing my army reservist training now and it will last for two weeks.

I really miss all of you and hope to see you soon in week 3. I hope all of you are still learning in class and do cooperate with the relief teachers during my absence. Study hard and continue to enjoy learning in school.

Because of my poor vision, I have to keep this entry short. Lastly, Mr P has promised to keep all of you company in school and will update me whenever possible.

Take care and best wishes,
Mr Abel Kok

Try your best to spot the adjective used. Adjectives are describing words.

These are some examples: Beautiful, handsome, honest, ugly, blue, big, small. (There are many more)

When you have finished with the game, you might want to read the many wonderful comments left by your friends for the previous newspaper articles.

Thank you,
Mr Kok
